Okay. Hello, everyone. This is Nakayama, CEO. During our IPO Road Show, I promised to deliver both growth and profitability as a growth company. Today's results are the first step to fulfil that promise. We are pleased to report that we closed the year with a rule of X of 56%. This reflects a year of balanced performance in both growth and profitability. Turning to the breakdown of our financials, total revenue was JPY380.7 billion, up 27% YOY.
This growth was driven by strong growth in both the payment segment and the financial services segment, which has become another revenue driver. RLTC grew 30% YOY to JPY296.4 billion. The RLTC margin also improved by 2% points to 78%, underscoring our enhanced earnings power. Our profitability with our disciplined. Cost control and operating leverage. Adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 29%. Our challenge began with payments, and now, we are entering an exciting new chapter. We are redefining everyday financial behaviours. Such as saving, borrowing, and investing beyond payments.
In financial services, the numbers show our progress, and customers keep using us. That is the strongest proof. This trend is shown in the FY 2025 results. Gross in financial-related revenue outpaces transaction-related revenues. Financial-related revenues now account for 41% of the total revenue, providing our diverse revenue sources. Looking ahead. We will continue to drive growth in the two business pillars: the original payments business and our faster-growing financial services as a first step of redefining the finance.
We launched a data lending service for our merchant partners through PPE Bank in April. This is a strategic evolution of our PPE funding services, which has gained strong traction since it launched in March 2024. Using our unique credit model based on base two. Transaction data. This service unlocks instant access to funds via smartphone, anytime and anywhere. We believe this data-driven product sets up apart from transactional banks. No, from traditional banks.
But again, this is just one of many examples looking ahead. We are fully committed to driving this redefinition across a platform, spanning all areas of our services, such as payments, banking, and securities. I believe that once people experience a more convenient world, they do not go back. It is our mission to build a better future by updating old systems with technology. We also believe that only Pepe can do that because we are the number one digital finance platform. Leveraging data, user base, and our mindset to keep taking on challenges. We invite you to look forward to the future of PayPay as we accelerate our trajectory in Japan and ultimately worldwide.
With that, I will now hand it over to Kagechika-san, CFO. Thank you.
Wataru Kagechika - Chief Financial Officer
Wataru Kagechika - Chief Financial Officer
Thank you, Nakayama-san. I'm Wataru Kagechika, CFO. I will now walk you through our business highlights and results. As Nakayama-san mentioned, we delivered strong performance in both growth and profitability. In particular, the expansion in profitability was driven not only by revenue growth across each business segment. But also, by operating leverage, supported by disciplined cost management across the group. Let's dive into our business topics in fourth quarter.
First, the number of our EKYC-verified users surpasses 40 million, one of the largest digital customer bases in Japan. The expansion of this EKYC-verified user base is strategically critical for our future in three keyways. Firstly, it enhances cross-sell opportunities by improving conversion rates into our financial services beyond payments.
Secondly, it increases user convenience and satisfaction. By enabling features such as fund withdrawals and full compensation in the event of payment fraud, thereby driving greater user loyalty. Furthermore, we believe that advancing the development of a safe and secure financial platform that aligned with societal expectations will lead to further customer acquisitions. In light of this, we have announced that, starting in June 26, eligibility for certain rewards programs will be limited to EKYC-verified users while promoting EKYC verification with an incentive program.
Second, PayPay card, which we acquired in late 2022, has firmly entered a growth trajectory. In current year 2025, we estimate that net new card additions ranked number one within the domestic credit card industry. This growth has been driven by our ability to offer seamless and integrated user experience across QR code payments and credit card payments.
第二,PayPay Card(我們於 2022 年底收購)已穩健進入成長軌道。
As well as by enhancement of our credit risk management through proprietary underwriting models, leveraging data from the PayPay ecosystem. As a result, our cards are gaining strong traction, particularly among younger demographics. Third, I would like to highlight our IPO-related share offering through PayPay Securities and its achievement of full-year profitability.
In March, PayPay Securities offered PayPay shares to domestic retail investors as a selling agent under a framework known as a Public Offering Without Listing. This approach has historically been considered difficult to conduct at scale in Japan due to regulatory constraints. However, PayPay Securities successfully completed approximately JPY13 billion in sales, making a significant milestone.
In addition.
此外。
Following its consolidation as a subsidiary in April 2025, PayPay Securities achieved its first-ever full-year operating profit in FY 2025. Finally, we are strengthening our initiatives targeting younger users. PayPay has a strong brand presence among younger people. As part of this, in March, we launched a new program for EKYC-verified users aged 12 to 18. This program offers more favorable rewards conditions and enables users to earn PayPay points more efficiently through engagement with our financial services.
In addition, PayPay Bank exceeded 10 million accounts in April 2026. This growth has been primarily driven by account acquisitions among users in their 10s and 20s, with the number of accounts held by these younger users increasing approximately four-fold over the past five years. Let me now walk you through our fourth quarter business performance. In consolidated total revenue we delivered strong results, reaching JPY102.2 billion, up 30% year-on-year.
In our payments segment, revenue grew 27% year-on-year, partly driven by an improvement in our take rate on GMV. The financial service segment was the primary driver of revenue growth, increasing 47% year-on-year and outpacing the payments segment. This was mainly driven by higher interest income resulting from the expansion in lending, particularly in mortgage loans, as well as growth in corporate deposits and lending. Other key factors are improved yields on our investment portfolio due to policy interest rate hikes. And the introduction of maintenance fees for accounts inactive for two years or more.
GMV reached JPY5 trillion, up 23% year-on-year, driven primarily by the growth of PayPay credit and PayPay card. The take rate also improved year-on-year, supported by. Higher mix of high-margin online payments, as well as continued improvements in both offline and online payments margins. Additionally, the expansion of interest income, driven by growth in the credit card financing balance, was a key contributor.
GMV growth has been driven by a balanced growth in both MTU. The number of unique users transacting at least once within a month, and GMV per MTU, which represents monthly spending per user. Benefiting from network effect, MTU reached JPY41 million, while the active rate also steadily increased to 56%. In addition, GMV per MTU continued to grow steadily. Driven by higher payment frequency and increasing average transaction value, which is supported by the growth of online payments and the PayPay credit and the PayPay card.
Let me provide an update on the key operation metrics of PayPay card, which continue to drive growth in this segment. Through initiatives such as our proprietary credit underwriting models and extending small-ticket credits, our approval rate has improved, particularly among younger users, driving steady growth in the number of active cards issued. As the number of active cards issued has increased, the credit card's financial balance.
Comprising revolving instalment payments and cash advances, has steadily grown, with the increase exceeding JPY100 billion for the full year of FY 2025. Even amid strong growth in credit card financial balance, credit costs remain well under control. Demonstrating the effectiveness of our proprietary credit models and disciplined underwriting.
The net charge-off rates as a percentage of average receivables declined to 0.58% in FY 2025. In addition, Stage 3 receivables, credit impairment assets remained stable at 4% of total receivables. Next, let me turn to the financial service segment. First, PayPay Bank's deposit accounts reached the JPY10 million milestone in April, supported by double-digit growth driven by customer referrals from PayPay platform and the integration between our banking and securities businesses.
While the number of accounts currently ranks second among domestic digital banks, we believe there remains significant room for growth in both deposits and lending, and we are focused on accelerating this expansion. Turning to PayPay securities, our account base expanded significantly, driven by initiatives such as the sales of PayPay's IPO shares.
Portal accounts reached 1.73 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 360,000 accounts. While we currently rank sixth among domestic online brokerage in terms of account numbers, we aim to accelerate growth further by enhancing the user experience and offering differentiated products. Deposit balance increased 23% year-on-year, driven by growth in the number of accounts, as well as the successful initiatives such as our Step Up interest rate program, which offer higher interest rates in accordance with deposit balance.
Deposits from SME and corporate customers, including PayPay merchants, also contribute to this growth. Loan balance sheet expanded steadily, primarily driven by mortgage loans. Going forward, we aim to further accelerate growth by leveraging PayPay's strength to expand our loan product offerings. Let me touch upon our balance sheet. Total assets increased 28% year-on-year to JPY5.2 trillion, broadly in line with our top-line growth, reflecting the expansion of our business.
Net assets increased by JPY207 billion. This was removed by accumulation of retained earnings, as well as capital contributions from our major shareholders. And the execution of stock options by SoftBank Vision Fund at the beginning of FY 2025. In addition, new shares were issued in connection with the IPO at the end of the fiscal year. Please note that FY 2025 included a one-off tax effect of JPY57.5 billion related to the recognition of deferred tax assets at PayPay. As of the end of fiscal year, our equity ratios to debt 7.6%, ROE for the full year was 24%, and net debt, as definition of by our company, was JPY106 billion.
Adjusted EBITDA roughly doubled year-on-year to JPY28.6 billion, with the margin expanding to 28%. Finally, I will now turn to our guidance for FY 2026. Let me explain the framework first. Going forward, we will disclose our guidance for both full year and the upcoming quarter for the. Total revenue and adjusted EBITDA. Our guidance ranges are set at plus minus 1% for total revenue and plus minus 2% for adjusted EBITDA, relative to our base case number.
For FY 2026, we did not anticipate any significant changes in underlying business trends. In terms of external environment, we assume CPI growth of approximately 2% year-on-year, a policy interest rate hike of 25 basis points in the mid-year, and foreign exchange rates of JPY155 per US dollar.
We expect full-year consolidate total revenue for FY 2026 to increase by across approximately 20% year-on-year. We expect the adjusted EBITDA margin to be around 30%, representing an improvement of approximately 1% points year-on-year. In the previous fiscal year, margin expansion was driven primarily by company-wide cost structure reform, particularly adjusted EBITDA margin improvement in the financial services segment.
In the current fiscal year, further EBITDA margin improvement in the financial services segment is expected to be relatively limited. We also incorporate a certain level of growth investment. We intend to balance profitability and growth as we explained during the IPO process. With that, I would like to open the floor for questions. Thank you very much.

Thank you. Okay. Very good results, very strong quarter out of the gate. Congrats here. I have two questions. So, how is this strategy to deepen the integration across PayPay's ecosystem to a more unified financial platform processing? And how effective has the cross-sell strategy and product adoption been? And where are you seeing the most traction?
Ichiro Nakayama - President, Chief Executive Officer
Ichiro Nakayama - President, Chief Executive Officer
Hi, let me, Nakayama, answer that. So first, for PayPay Card, PayPay Bank, securities, these companies are under our financial arm and for PayPay Card, most of the users have already linked their accounts and without using any customer acquisition costs, we have been able to increase the user base and increase the revolving balance. As well as we saw a good growth in GMV. Meanwhile, for PayPay Bank and PayPay Securities, they have been consolidated last April.
So YOY wise, they are growing, but at the current moment, there's only half of the user base who have linked their accounts. But. We are growing the user base without spending any CAC, and that is a big difference between day being consolidated and now. And also, so moving forward, we will be growing our user base without spending CAC and then to spend our growth investments moving forward.

Great. Thank you. And I do have a quick follow-up question. So, considering the historical effectiveness of the points driving user growth and loyalty as a driver of user acquisition, can you talk a little bit about how the points have changed everything as well?
Ichiro Nakayama - President, Chief Executive Officer
Ichiro Nakayama - President, Chief Executive Officer
Hi. Thank you. Okay, so for our point strategy, there's no changes, but. This time, for non-EKYC verified users from June this year, we will not be providing them with the regular point incentives, and therefore, we are trying to enhance our profitability on this end. But for the loyal customers, they are accounting for most of our GMV. Therefore, we see that there's no changes in our point strategy.
So for profitability-wise, we think this will be a positive change. And when you look at the group as a whole, SoftBank and Line LY Corporation as well, their strategy across the whole group is to utilize points in providing more stronger engagement, and that is what we will be focusing on further as well.

Thank you so much. Can you hear me? Great. This is Makoto Kuroda from Goldman Sachs in Tokyo. Congratulations on a very good result. I, too, have two questions on the fiscal year March '27 guidance. First question is on March '27 GP margin and operating expense outlook. On the fiscal year March 27 guidance, it seems like the adjusted EBITDA margin rises slightly year-on-year. But how should we think about GP margin and operating expense outlook? Are there any factors to note for the operating expense outlook? This is my first question.
And then my second question also on fiscal year March 27 guidance is, could you share with us a little bit more of the macro assumptions underlying the fiscal year guidance? In terms of the BOJ policy rate assumption, you mentioned a 25-basis point rate hike mid-year, so could I just clarify. Do you assume one rate hike in second quarter for the full year March 27? And then what is its profit contribution to March 27 guidance? That is my second question.

Let me answer from the first question. There is gross profit margin, even though, yeah, we expanded the gross profit margin last fiscal year, but this year, the situation will be somehow changed because of the interest rate hike. When looking at our business structure, even though we have the banking business and the credit card business, the interest rate hike. That differently works on both businesses.
And also, when looking at the banking business, we have to rate the. The rate for deposit first and apply the higher interest rate for mortgage loans after around six months past the interest rate hike. So, that will somehow negatively impact on. Our gross profit margin for this year. And also, this year, we anticipate that the BOJ will raise their interest rates going forward. So, our portfolio management at the banking business have to be more conservative, especially for the JGB portfolio. So, they have a little bit shortened their duration.
So those are the factors why this year we cannot expect the GFP gross profit margin expansion. But the base fundamental business has not been changed. And after the BOJ's interest rate hike, it will positively affect our gross profit margin. This is the answer for the first question. And second question, actually, we anticipate that the BOJ will hike the rate at around June or July by 25 basis points. But this assumption has already been implemented in our financial projections and the guidance. So, yeah, this is the answer for your questions.

Stan, say congrats on the first quarter out of being a public company. Let me just ask, the financial services area, we saw very strong. And I'm curious what you think was the areas of upside on the cross-sell and the attach, just the growth rate outpaced even what we expected from that side. And clearly, that's an area of strategic focus for you guys going into the year ahead, as well as we keep going through the next three quarters of the rest of the fiscal year. Just touch a little more on what you're seeing in terms of the uptick.

Thank you. So regarding our financial services segment, we have our PayPay Card, PayPay Bank and PayPay Securities. For PayPay Card. We are proceeding with our strategy strongly for our loan balance and all, and for bank and securities. The past year, we have been focusing on the younger demographics, and we have been acquiring a lot of new account openings among these demographics. So, we are confident of our progress, and we know where to improve.

So since April, we have a new CEO for Paypay Bank, who was previously the CEO of PayPay Card. So, he will be utilizing his know-how in PayPay Card and strongly changing PayPay Bank. And as I mentioned, when Mr. Dan Dolev asked his question. The benefits or the good point of cross-sell is not using CAC and to grow our user base. So, with that, we believe our profitability will grow further. Thank you.

Apologies, I was talking about the margin of the NIMS. So according to my calculation, for financial services, I'm looking at about 1.3% and I was wondering whether that's how much of that comes from what the BOJ did in December or whether it's due to improvement in the mix. So, when you say 1.3%, what's that number? Where's it from? Yes, I've looked at the quarterly interest earning asset.
I use that to divide things back to get the 1.3%. So, it can be according to the formula that you use. But the spread has gone up, I am assuming.
Wataru Kagechika - Chief Financial Officer
Wataru Kagechika - Chief Financial Officer
So PayPay, are you asking about PayPay being yields and how much they've gone up? Yeah, so for the, you've disclosed it just for the financial segment, and I believe that that doesn't include securities. So, the financial services segment does mainly consist of the banking business. And for banking related assets, they are on a variable basis. But if there is something different there is a Yen denominated portfolio.
And for that, I think midterm. Bonds are included, so that will sort of follow later. Let's say though that if we're talking about mortgage loan yield, the interest rate hike, basically the increase in the rate hike is of 25 basis points is basically reflected in the increase in the yield.

So for the delinquency ratio for the payment segment, it's actually going down. There is one technical issue here though, which is that once or two times a year, PayPay cards sells or writes off bad debt or sells bad debt and this can result in an increase or decrease in the bad debt on the books. But in terms of our loan portfolio quality, after excluding that, things are actually. Getting better.

In terms of capital expenditure. First of all, for the payment segment, most depreciation and new investments are well balanced and PayPay's policy is that we don't hold unnecessary tangible assets. But most of the assets that we have are related to system development.
Related labour costs of software engineers. We also issued some physical plastic cards so the cost towards that has been booked as assets and subject to amortization or depreciation. In terms of bank, PayPay Bank, we're currently working on fixing information systems and that is subject to amortization but it's not too much so it won't be significantly visible from outside. We are going to be building our own banking core banking system as well.
Tanida has become the CEO now and the CapEx plan is going to be reviewed but it will be reviewed towards reducing costs rather than spending more. So, in terms of depreciation and amortization that won't impact the piano in any negative. Way. In terms of guidance for the coming year, I think an increased plus looker is what we expect, which means, and revenue is expected to grow by 20%, which means that cost rate is expected to get reduced.

For our revenue, as I mentioned just now, for the EKYC verified users, they account for most of our GMV, so I believe there's no negative impact. And for our profit part, we won't be spending money on the point rewards much, so of course. Let me ask the CFO to follow-up on that.

Okay, great. Thanks. And then my follow-up question is just thinking about growth of the user base. How do we think about the PayPay MTU growth, the PayPay deposit account growth? That looks like there's probably some room for an acceleration in the PayPay bank area and then PayPay securities. Which I assume maybe the PayPay MTU becomes a little more mature, so growth rates might slow a little while maybe the PayPay Bank and PayPay Securities could accelerate. Just trying to get maybe the acceleration of those metrics and which ones look more mature as we go into this fiscal year? Thanks.
Wataru Kagechika - Chief Financial Officer
Wataru Kagechika - Chief Financial Officer
So, as you can see here in this graph, both for PayPay Bank and PayPay Securities, since they have become consolidated under PayPay Bank grew YOY 12% and Securities grew 26% YOY. So, we believe this will grow further down the road and for PayPay's MTU, as you mentioned I think more of the eKYC verified users toward them, we are providing a so-called eKYC passport feature where we encourage these eKYC verified users to open their accounts across our financial arms. And as we have more and more eKYC verified users, we believe the accounts in PayPay Bank and securities will grow. So that's the structure we have built so far.

Asking about the fiscal FY'25 results about the take rate. Okay, yeah. Last fiscal year, the GMV mix wise, the online GMV increased by 3% to 17% against the total GMV. Here, we exclude the GMV for line Yahoo and still, the momentum has been continued. And this fiscal year, we also think that we can improve the online GMV mix. Going forward at the same pace we saw for the last fiscal year. And also, the tech rate itself was improved for a few basis points for offline merchants and more than 10 basis points for online merchants.
But this fiscal year, because we have improved a lot for the last fiscal year for the online merchants. So even though we have seen good momentum to improve the take rate for online merchants but somehow declining the pace of the improvement for the take rate itself and going forward, now we are now getting more momentum, growth momentum from the younger generation and data content seller. The is the leading the GMV expansion on the online GMV sites. So, we expect that this momentum will not be changed for this fiscal year.

There are a few drivers here. So first of all, we're looking at, first of all, YTU. Yearly transacting users. So, we look at all the users who are signed up, then out of that we focus on increasing yearly transacting users out of signed up users. And so, it's like we convert YTU into MTU and then into WTU, weekly transacting users, and then into daily transacting users. MTU is one layer within that.
So, first step is increasing YTU and in order to do that, one very important thing is increasing merchants. Another is peer-to-peer transactions. We have 96% share at the moment. By increasing peer-to-peer transactions, YTU, MTU, WTU and DTU increases. We know that from our track record over the past few years. So, we will be driving peer-to-peer transactions to help contribute to active ratio.
We're running referral campaigns and we're spending minimal amount of CAC on that and through peer-to-peer transactions, the receiving users use the balance that they receive and that in turn results in higher YTU and MTU. So that's one thing that we're doing. There are a few other things that we're doing, but that's the gist of what we're doing.

Got it. Very helpful. And then just for a quick follow-up with regards to the guidance, you mentioned the incorporation of a certain level of growth investments that might be weighing on the adjusted EBITDA outlook for the year. I was hoping you could give a little more detail on those specific growth investments that you plan on making in the upcoming fiscal year. I guess my assumption is that they might be more focused on driving continued outsized growth in the financial services segment. So, one, correct me if I'm wrong on that assumption, and then. And what specific investments or products should we expect to be rolling out in the fiscal year here? Thank you.

Yes, we have a few things planned. One big thing is rolling out an all-in-one card across the PayPay group, the PayPay card and PayPay bank. Features will become available in a single card is the concept of that product. This is one of our growth investments for this year. We will be running marketing promotions on this as well, not just issuing the card. We'll be able to increase active users with this and number of valid members as well. This will be towards the end of this fiscal year, but that's when it will start reflecting in our numbers.
Another thing is younger user segments. We will be expanding younger user segment and as they grow, they will help PayPay grow as well, which has been going well so far. And we want to get younger users to use all our PayPay group services, which is what we'll be focusing on. Those are the main things that we'll be focusing on.
